What it is about
Idearium español (1897): the book that opened the debate on 'the problem of Spain'.
Context and history
A year before the disaster of 1898, Ganivet tried to explain the Spanish character through geography, Senecan stoicism and what he called the territorial spirit. It marked the whole Generation of '98 — Unamuno first of all — and has been argued over ever since. OCR digitisation: it may contain errors. Text in SPANISH: Ganivet's original.
