Flora Tristan travels to Peru to claim her father's inheritance and writes down what she sees: slavery, convents, a civil war, and her own condition as a woman with no rights and no possible divorce. **Text in the original language.** The book made her famous and her husband shot her in the street. It is the origin of French socialist feminism.
