What it is about

The Four Ancient Books of Wales: the poetry, not the tales.

Context and history

The Black Book of Carmarthen, the Book of Taliesin, the Book of Aneirin and the Red Book. It is not Mabinogi, though the catalogue files it under the same name: it is the oldest Welsh poetry there is, and includes Y Gododdin, with the earliest known mention of Arthur.

Editorial context, not a citable source: unlike the passages of the work itself, these statements cannot be checked against the corpus.
