What it is about

Works of Origen, Patrologia Graeca vol. 11, in GREEK and LATIN.

Context and history

Migne's volume including the treatise On Prayer and Contra Celsum, the great Christian reply to a reasoned pagan attack. Origen (c. 185–253) was the most ambitious thinker of the early church and was condemned three centuries after his death; hence much of his work survives only in fragments or in Latin.

Editorial context, not a citable source: unlike the passages of the work itself, these statements cannot be checked against the corpus.
